Possible Region G deer hunt

I have spent the last 4 years dreaming of hunting mule deer in the high country of SW Wyoming. Although I have never stepped foot into those mountains, there have been a lot of pictures, stories, and video that have me eager to go. This summer I will be dedicating some time to scout, prepare for that hunt.
I have not applied yet and I know my time is running short.

I've watched point creep in Region G every year. It shows no sign of slowing to offer me better odds.
My 4 Preference points may not get me the tag in the special draw. So I am offering my time scouting (with pictures) in exchange for help/support with PP to give me better odds of getting a tag.

A decision can be made later whether you want to hunt together or by yourself.

Any takers?
Any suggestions?

We went scouting in G once about 25 years ago, before we had hunted there much. From the road, we went 3/4 mile to the main ridge and then 5 miles along the top of the ridge (measured on google earth, Note: no trail on ridge). We jumped two monster bucks at he five mile point. That fall, we backpacked in on a good trail and camped near a spring less than a mile from where we saw the big boys. We saw them twice, very briefly, on opening day, but didn't shoot fast enough and they both got away without even being shot at. We didn't see them again after the opener.

There are so many good places to go in G that I have only repeated that hunt once, about 20 years ago, and we only saw small bucks in that area that year, so I haven't been back there again (yet).

I like your style, so I want to give you a good deal. Just send me all the money you have and I will give you the GPS coordinates of the trail head. Give me all the money your wife and kids have and I will give you the GPS coordinates of the spring. Rob a bank and give me all the money you get and I will give you the GPS coordinates of the monster buck bedding area.

Luckily I have a job that allows me more than enough time to scout for deer and/or at least learn the SW Wyoming country which I have never stepped foot in. So what I have is time. Time to do some leg work before the hunting season starts which is very beneficial to those who hunt there. Others on this website have also suggested its importance as well. Some people don't have that time due to work, families, etc.
What I don't have is enough points to draw region G. So my offer was quite simple to understand.
My scouting time and knowledge of some of the areas, traded for help with points to draw the tag.
It's a fair trade. It's nothing remotely close to an offer like Founders in the classified adds.
But thanks for your comments.

It is definitely not the same thing (and I don't have major issues with either proposal), but I would definitely not say it is "nothing remotely close" either. If points equal money, then I think it is somewhat similar (photos....scouting).

In order to move from 4 to 5 points, you will need someone with 6 points. What is 6 points worth, how much would you pay for an additional point if WY would let you buy one to guarantee you a tag? $500?

I bet you get a taker on this, heck it might be me if I don't draw Colorado!

I have a couple trips planned to check things out. In total, it will be 7 days of backpacking.
If I had to guess, I will hike a total of 10-20 miles in those two trips. A local will be showing me around as well. That will include several miles on an ATV.
So I will have some invested time, efforts along with gasoline spent/miles on the truck. How much is that worth to you? Maybe 2-3 points?
A friend of mine with pack goats might be able to do a drop camp as well. Although I haven't asked him yet, he's offered to help me in the past.

As for comparing Founders deal to mine, I don't feel I am offering a service. Trade work....yes but no money exchanging hands.
Good luck on your Colorado application.

For what my 2 cents is worth... BillyBob seems to be the real deal. I have talked with him and he seems to really have a passion for this! Just a guy trying to get a chance like so many others have done over and over. Difference is point creep is changing that game too. Good luck and I hope you get a taker! I would share me gen tag with you if I could! Keep me posted

I may or may not be sitting on a pile of points. How big of a deer do you think you can guarantee me through you scouting efforts???

Wade,
My first trip will be the end of July. Antler growth should be decent by then. There will a second trip in early August. I can't guarantee you any deer. Who knows what I will find. This trade offer is for those who may not have time to scout before the hunt. Or for those who have never stepped foot into the region and wouldn't want to go into a hunt without any knowledge of the area.
