At first glance I was like, what is so great about a Wasatch west muzzy tag? Then I finally scrolled down and I understood why you are so excited. Congrats on one of the best tags in the state. Keep us updated.

Just curious how many points did it take to pull the muzz deer tag??? Congrats by the way...

I got you, elkassassin :) Thanks, though.

Thanks, Dillon, I was planning on the usual muzzleloader deer hunt again this year and was just expecting to accumulate another elk point. I was absolutely shocked when I checked my credit card last week. I had 13 points and wasn't expecting to cash them in for a few more years. It was pure good luck, which I don't usually have when it comes to drawing tags. The deer hunt will certainly take a back seat this year. I have a lot to learn about the unit and the herd in the next 90 days.

LAST EDITED ON May-18-16 AT 09:24PM (MST)[p]Thanks, Tikka. I had 1 preference point for deer. 13 bonus points for elk. It was pure luck on the elk tag...

LAST EDITED ON May-18-16 AT 09:58PM (MST)[p]Thanks, elkhunter96. With 13 points, I never thought I'd get to hunt the Beaver unit. I've always heard such good things about it. I'm as interested in enjoying the whole experience as I am in getting a chance at a great bull. I'm trying to keep my expectations realistic and to learn all I can about the area. I want to make the most of the opportunity...

The old man had 20 points for the elk for Beaver multi tag. I guess I won't have to bug him again tonight to see if he got the email I know the answer now haha. Congrats on the draw. I know the area well if you need any pointers let me know

Thanks - and sorry - Deer1975. These random drawings can be a little frustrating while we wait. I know that feeling, too. In fact, I was hoping my brother in law (20 points) would draw the tag this year.

I would definitely appreciate any information you'd be willing to share and will return the favor when your dad draws his tag. I'll send you a PM with my contact info.

Hopefully you can get that elk with your rifle, early... That way you won't miss that amazing opportunity at a deer on the Wasatch with your muzzy... :)

Congrats on an amazing tag and I hope we all see your adventures this year.

BrowningRage,

I know, right? The Wasatch is loaded with 200" deer. They're practically everywhere. :)

Congrats on your great tag in the Bookcliffs! You're in for a memorable hunt...
