LAST EDITED ON May-28-16 AT 08:48AM (MST) by Founder (admin)[p]You are set up and anchored for the 200 yd shot but only have a 20 second window while the buck works his way up the ridge and over the top. Is he a shooter or do you let him live to see another day?

He's plenty big enough for me but I don't like that shot either and he never clears the other deer in the event of a pass thru. He's also skylined more or less in the event of a clean miss.

shooter. IF I was ready, I'd shoot at the 11 second mark. Slide it in just in front of hindquarter, he drops right there and doesn't move. :D

He would be big enough for me. As for the shots presented I don't think I would dare shoot. Never really clears from the other deer enough and if you pass through you risk smacking a doe or fawn. Ain't worth breaking the law it's just a deer catch him on the flip side

I think he's a no brainer to shoot. But I've never taken the 'Texas Heart Shot'... Don't know if I'd start here... Follow him and see if another opportunity arises...

With that badass music playing in the background, how could you not shoot?! Seriously tho, that's a shooter Buck.

Agree with the other posts, he's a shooter for sure. Doesn't look spooked and trailing the does. Catch him on the other side milling around.

I looked at the video and decided what I wanted to say before I read all the previous posts.
I made up my mind that he's a damn good shooter within a couple seconds but I was paralyzed waiting for a shot opportunity which never materialized for me so would not have sent a bullet.

I'd have to make a play on the other side of the ridge.

I'd better work on my cardio so I could run up there and still squeeze off a clean shtick when I found him again.

Thanks for the super cool video! I'm pumped for my upcoming LE hunt!

I think you're right on the money there Zeke. Sometimes it's a tough call to not let the adrenaline and emotions take precedent over ethical judgement and common sense. Sorry if it's already been discussed but what tag did you draw?

The only thing that'd scare me in this scenario are those does.
I'd follow him with my cross hairs and if I get a clean opportunity, I take it.

I shot my rifle a couple times over the Holiday and I will do so through the summer....whenever it's not so hot that it melts my sabots!

Well a big congrats on the tag Zeke. Sounds like you're getting dialed in. Best of luck to you. Some big ol bucks down there but you only need one!

Pass. Good way to smoke a doe in the process. Hurry up and wait and stalk him over the ridge
