Youth Unit 43 Colorado Deer

I have a youth (12) muzzy deer tag. I was curious on any info for 1 day hikes and 1 or 2 overnight hikes for a 2yr old buck and his first deer. He can hike about 2 to 4 miles depending on the elevation. He has hurt his knee in the past. We are wimpy ginger hikers! Have hunted 53 and 22 before but not 43, 471, or 47. Thanks for any advice!

We stayed in the avelanche campground and occasionally saw some bucks and does down in the bottom river country neer camp. Easy hiking (right out of camp) very brushy with openings. Climb up a little ways and wait. Never saw anything big but a few forkies and 3 points running around. This was in mid October. Good luck.
