I'd love to see him... I better get out there in the next couple days and track him down... Did you hike over to him Grizzly, or did you see him from the road..??
At first glance my thought was he's a 220" buck, but then a few stickers popped out and I wouldn't doubt if he ends up 230" or so... I'm guessing he's on the hit list this year though...

Heartshot, I didn't say I don't have pics of him, I just said I hadn't seen him yet, this year. I have several friends who have seen him. I just haven't been spending much time out there.
Grizzly will get credit for his great pics, but the buck has been well known for a few years.

Never understood the whole Island thing. Can anyone go out to photograph the wildlife on the island? Can people just take a boat and hang out on the island? Why is it always that Doyle gets to go out there and not any other guide? I'd think that EVERYONE would want to go there to check out these huge deer. Whats the deal??

Thus, he is always the guide. The person who draws the tag, can DIY it if they choose, or hire a guide. Doyle offers his services for free, with picture/video rights. So far, only one hunter has gone DIY.
As to public access, its a state park, with most roads open to public. Most of the island is trail restricted.
Meaning no off trail hiking. Oh ya, its a state park, with a 7 mile causeway to the island, that is open the public. Not an island anymore, as water levels are so low, gthat one could walk across the lake bed, about 5 miles.
