LAST EDITED ON Aug-30-16 AT 08:28AM (MST)[p]Though I've been hunting all my life and archery hunting many times with others, I've never been the one behind the bow. This year I decided to to do it. With the help of some friends, I bought a bow, learned to shoot, and then headed to the hills to hunt solo. I spotted this guy in his bed in the middle of the afternoon and put a stalk on him. I got within 33 yards and waited him out for two hours until the sun started hitting him and he got up to change beds. The rest is history. He's not the biggest buck out there, but I couldn't be more happy for my first bow kill on my first archery hunt behind the bow.

Next up, chasing New Mexico bulls with my muzzleloader.

I just bought my first bow in Apr. Am going solo with either sex deer and elk tags in SE Idaho. Hope I get a chance to sling an arrow and experience the sense od accomplishment you are feeling. Awesome job!

Well done buddy..!! That is a great buck, and a great story.!!
