"Shoot Straight"

Yep, the question is, is he special to you and for the area you're hunting? Looks pretty nice to me.

Yea wish I was hunting there took that pic this morning on my way to work I would shoot that deer any day of the year in any state I guess my question is just on score so I can get a good reference point never seen a buck with front forks that deep thanks again

It depends on your definition of "special."

If you mean special, as in record book, definitely not.
If you mean special, as in a "damn nice wall hanger," most definitely!

I knew he was big when I seen him I think a slick typical like that is hard to judge without seen the extra inches in flyers

I don't know that I will ever get into the inches game. I never want to get to the point where I determine an animal is a shooter based upon the guess of a score, only to walk up on a 195 buck thinking he was a 200 buck and be disappointed. That is the ultimate injustice to a living animal to put it down and be disappointed with the life you took later.

(that was just my random thought for the day)

Now as far as that buck goes, I think the MMers on here are pretty close on score. Just don't get sucked into the inches game to the point it consumes you. As hunters, we are taking the lives of animals. We owe it to these creatures and to God to respect that life we took. Good luck on the hunts!

Does he have double eye guards on his right side? His right beam looks a little short as does his right G2. Not putting him down...just what came to mind. I'd say he's a 180 buck.

I agree 100% on inches game before any of us knew inches we have probably all seen a deer like this and said wow not just how many inches but if you hunt long enough it'll get you it's competition against others against your and I do belive it's good to be competitive I mean if they didn't have horns we'd measure belly girth nut sacks tounges you name it

This buck definitely maybe special...

Is there a sign on that barb wire fence that says "No Hunting"?

Do you have a tag for the unit and season that deer lives in?

Is it your first deer?

Your first bow kill deer?

Is it a bucket fed buck at your buddy's grandmas house??

Does he live inside the city limits??

Are you pondering the fame of your name name being published the next Boone and Crockett edition?

Razzin ya!!!!

The trophy is measured in the eye of the beholder!!!!

Your buddy's won't give you hell for shooting that buck if that's what you are asking.
