My 76 year old uncle has drawn the tag and I have offered to help him fill it.

He is mobile but not big hill all day mobile.

I have heard about the fence but wish to stay away from that chaos if possible.

We are really looking for a 20-24 inch deer.

PM or email.

If you are looking for a 20-24 inch management buck, I think "the fence" is the best place for you to be... There may be a lot of people there, but most of them are not looking for what you are looking for. I'd say you could fill your tag opening day in that area without too much trouble, in fact, others might point you to a good 3-point since they are likely trophy hunting.

Good luck and let us know how things turn out...

That is the easiest tag in the state to fill. There are more 3x4 and 3x3 bucks on that unit than most people realize. Big ones too. "The fence" area is good. It sounds like a lot of deer are dropping off the mountain early this year so they will be down low in the open country by November when he gets to go hunting.

Good luck,

That might be more true than some of us think.
100 tags x 10 spotters = A thousand dudes in the field all pushing for their spot at the deer crossings. Someone should sell tickets for the show! Of course I have no idea how it will play out this year but a few giants will hit the dirt!
Good luck to all the regular tag and management tag guys.
