Hi everyone first time Monster Muleys user, I have enjoyed looking at many peoples pictures on here but have not posted till now. My boyfriend or should I say EX-boyfriend recently broke up with me :(. We drew the muzzle loader tag for Oct 15 -31 in unit 45 as a group hunt. I guess he found a a different girl. Im trying to be strong, and I've always wanted to kill a mule deer, not much luck over last couple years in the open hunts. I had to break down and get my own muzzle loader as I do want to follow the rules. Now its just me and a girlfriend of mine gonna be going out and I have no idea where to go. I have looked on google earth a little but seems like a lot of area. I know many of you probably have some spots you dont want to share and thats ok, Im just looking for any kinda of help maybe get me pointed in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Damn tough luck. Sounds like he was the loser. Someone will step up to the plate. Good luck

Use the next 6 days to get out and learn what you can and scout it out. Find where the roads take you and some of the posted lands you should avoid. Pm sent.

Welcome aboard. Good for you to want to keep with it. Hopefully you'll get some help and can go get one.

If you both have tags for the same area, be on the look out. He may mistake you for his deer.

Welcome to MM and the best of luck on your hunt and a new relationship in your future.
I also agree to make sure you post in the Idaho forums and narrow your field a little.
Keep us posted and we look forward to seeing success pics and stories! ?

I've seen it all now, but I bet this is the most effective way any guy ever thought of to get legit honey hole information ;-)

I'm just a lonely, pretty girl looking for a big buck. hahaha

LAST EDITED ON Oct-09-16 AT 08:41PM (MST)[p]If legit, I was a lot younger, and I lived in Idaho, and knew the area, I would reply with this:

I know the area and might be willing to take you hunting in some of the spots where I have had success. Please send a picture.... of your gun and the targets you have shot.

If you indeed who you say you are, post a picture of yourself holding your muzzleloader with a thumbs up. That will convince this crowd that you are legit and will probably get you some good advice

Wishing you luck on your hunt!

BAHAHAHAAAA. Yes, post a picture of yourself holding todays Newspaper. Ahh heck,, no need,, there's enough lonely guys out there that will give you plenty of info based on the chance that you are a pretty young female! If this is legit,, I am sorry, and best of luck to you!

I'M pretty OLD and NOT a girl. Does that count for anything?

I hope you find everything you're looking for, and more, but I know nothing which would help you on the hunt!

This thread would blow up with some more participation from you huntgirl01-

You need to respond to some of the messages being sent to you, or update everyone on whether or not you have followed through on some of this advice. Where do you live..?? Near Unit 45..?? If so, head up to the mountains a couple times. If not, call the Fish and Game and contact the local Officer/Employees that work in that unit and ask them where you should try out... Is there a hunting store in Gooding or Mountain Home..?? You could speak with someone there about Unit 45.

If nothing else, according to the unit map, there is an area called Deer Heaven Mountain- start there... :)
