Idaho mule deer

Myself and a buddy will be going on our first rifle mule deer hunt next fall. We're going to Idaho and think we've narrowed our options down to two general areas - either units 20A, 26, and 27 (includes parts of Frank Church Wilderness Area) or units 17, 19, and 20 (includes parts of Frank Church, Bitterroot, and Gospel Hump Wilderness areas). Not sure if you can get any weapon tags for November in units 20A, 26, and 27 but there are still November tags available for this year in the other units I mentioned. I assume this is due to the increase in wolves, but the harvest reports are still good for those units so I'm not sure. Curious if anyone has any info on the national forests or wilderness areas in these units. Not looking for anyone's honey hole, just where we would be most likely to kill a decent buck.

I hunted there a few years ago in the frank church wilderness anyware along the river can be good my freind killed a 205 typical, wolves are bad , country is rugged .

Gotta fly in for November hunting in the Middle Fork Zone. Even if there's a road open, it would be really unsafe.

I think you can access unit 19 most if not all of the hunt by the Salmon River.

just curious I am planning a hunt out to Idaho and am looking at 20a 26 27. did you end up hunting those units? if so any advice I have always wanted to hunt mule deer out west looks like ill have an opportunity to do it mid September this year.
