I have a question for the Books Cliff hunters and guides. My son and law and I experienced some crazy stuff there two years ago while deer hunting there. Just finally got my guts up to say something. PMs will be best, I do not want to start a freak show. My story is true, no booze, just crazy stuff

10 years ago,I watched Rex Woodhouse land his yellow
dual winged airplane on the Mc'cook ridge landing strip.

That was CRAZY!

You would had to have seen that one to believe it!

Oh come on... Do tell as I have seen some weird crap myself that is hard to explain or unexplainable.

saddling up anyway."

Do tell! I was out there for the Muzzy deer hunt. I seen some crazy sh*t. 80 long haired friends of mother nature smoking funny things and chaining themselves to big yellow CAT's. You see something more crazy than that? Curious Let me know.

"Determination is getting back in that saddle after getting dumped"

So how many hunter were there? Three? You, Law and your son?

Time to spill the beans. I doubt you could shock this group of guys.

If big foot were real, he'd have showed up on a trail cam by now. Lol.

But haven't heard a good spooky story on here for a while. Go ahead and let us have it.

If anything, maybe you will improve the draw odds for the book cliffs tags!

Spill the beans. I'm considering cashing in my deer points for the archery hunt in 2017. I'm really on the fence so maybe a crazy enough story will change my mind.

Here you go!
From the California fish cops!

I think he'd referring to the time I got drunk, got naked, covered my self in used motor oil later to put on my spurs and chaps, ended up in the wrong camp and chased him around the campfire while carrying my jumpercables!
Look man I said I was sorry! But like I told you sparky, no picture- no proof!

I was up there last year for 12 days on the late elk hunt, the thing that I thought was crazy, was what I didn't see,(nice bulls) but I think I was just maybe just a bit unlucky!

I Don't Think booty was Huntin out there 2 years ago?

So I Don't Think it was a Loin Cloth Issue?

I know Bess lives out that way, and in one picture he looked pretty big and hairy?? Any connection Bess?

every year in the roadless helicopters fly in in the night just figured out fitters high priced clients .told the fish and duck and authorities ,said nothing could do unless could get numbers of the side. but of course no numbers.on them.

Well this thread just got even more mysterious if this is true. I actually hunted there 2 years ago on the rifle deer hunt, and can't remember anything weird, except how ridiculously small all the bucks were.

Man, that's crazy! Any other updates or info you can share?

So sorry to hear about the news. Does anyone know Lonnie's family? Just wondering what we could do to lend a helping hand?

I believe it's all a sick and twisted joke... Sgt Pyle with the GFY PD? Hmmm. I'm not the best at reading comprehension but I believe I got the point.

Sorry out of town. I forgot the canyon name but it was just almost to the end of seep ridge road to the south. We were glassing and all of a sudden we start hearing drums and Indian chanting going on. We thought at first maybe there was a gathering there being Indian land up there. We drove about 4 miles farther down the canyon and it was still just as loud as as if we were next to it. We started seeing deer running all over away like they were just spooked, so we kept pushing farther down the canyon, still the kept going on. So we decided to go back to camp witch was about 15 miles north. Got to camp about 7 pm an still heard the drums and chanting. Talked to a couple hunters, we all just laughed and said what the hell. Next day went to the same canyon, deer everywhere. Shot a nice 3x4; that was the most crazy experience we both have ever experienced. Was just wondering,

You're good. There isn't Indian land on the south end of seep Ridge fyi. But I had a friend run into a ltitle band of natives on flat rock who wanted to live like old times and stayed out there year round.

There were some activists protesting the tar sands mine camping in PR Canyon. They were also protesting about 15 miles north at the Red Leaf oil shale site. I know they had some tribal people (not Ute) in the group. Hippies like drum circles too. Who knows what kind of chants they might have done . Only logical explanation I could offer. Other than that, you must have been on the outskirts of the spirit world.
