Unit 27 plane ride

Hi guys,

I've been looking into doing a Backcountry mule deer hunt in the great state of Idaho and another member said that you can get a plane ride into unit 27 for about 500 bucks. If anyone has done this before just looking to get a little more info on it (best time of year, difficulty, quality of deer, etc.) and how your experience went.

Hey Jake,

Call McCall Aviation to check on current prices. They're one of the best pilots/companies. More recommendations on the Idaho forum.

Check out the Idaho forum for info on the hunt. Read the last five years or so. However, they do paint kind of a grim picture because of high expectations of the hunt and a drop in quality with wolves. Deer are bouncing back pretty well from the wolves statewide and numbers are increasing.

Also look at the Idaho harvest states on the fish and game website. Like I said, they're darn good and it's an objective info source.

I will take a better look at all that. Also been looking at units 39,43, and 50 any opinions on those units? I'm completely green to Idaho so I'm just trying get as much info as possible. Any help or opinions would be great.
