If you are putting in for a preference Point for Colorado on line do they still charge you Credit Card for the the Permit and then refund all but 25.00 or do they just hit the credit card for 25.00????

I helped a friend last Wed. do his app's for CO online and of the three, only one needed to buy the Habitat Stamp. That person just got his Stamp today. Only a week to get the Stamp once the CC was charged.

Confused. I applied tonight for deer alone and elk as party leader but the others are applying till this weekend. They let me do it without the stamp. Do I just need to purchase before I hunt or right away?

They will not send you your licese this year until you purchase the habitat stamp. If you know for sure that you will be drawn, you can go back online and purchase the stamp now. They send you the stamp immediately, so if you don't get drawn, you lose your money there, but it is just $5. You have to buy one stamp for each tag, with a max of 2 stamps. Therefore, if you draw a deer and elk tag, you have to buy 2 stamps ($10 total)

I am not 100% sure, but it also looks like you can wait and see that you do draw and then get the stamp. That will hold up them sending you the license until the stamp is bought, but sounds like it is still doable.

Last year, they just let you purchase the stamp sometime before you hunt, but now you have to purchase it with the license. Guess they know that many people will buy one and not get picked, thereby giving them more income.

Tx hunter has it nailed it's just another scam to get $5 from tons of people who don't draw a tag but don't fully read /understand what the regs are. You'll still draw your tag, you can still check and see if you drew your tag they just won't mail your tag til you bribe them with an extra $5. Or $10 if you draw 2 tags. Total b.s. considering the n-r is coughing up 300-500 for a tag already but they're doing such great things with the money....

Maybe people should start reading the regulations so they know what they need to do. Every year you hear of people who thought they could do this, or "this is how it used to be", or "I didn't know." In almost every circumstance it is in the regulations that they did not read. Maybe people should start to read the regulations before they apply. Just look at how many questions get asked on hunting websites that can usually be answered in the regulations, i.e. the question in this post. Its not that hard.
