My uncle went on a hunt with a guy last weekend that got a governers tag for Utah, and they killed a 9x9, I believe it greened 412! It was suposed to be an awesome bull though, any of you got any pictures of it. It was shot on mount Nebo, kindof above nephi Utah.

Damn,
Nebo still has animals eh?
5 day hunts with all their lion problems.
Lets see this bull.

I've senn decent animals on this range but never a 400 bull. Wow I didn't know that unit produced bulls that big.

CASS,
I would be very interested in learning what you understand to be the "lion problem" on the Nebo.

What experience do you have on these hills, or what have you been led to believe?? Just Curious.....KT

My uncles live in Utah, Family has hunted the state for more then 60 years.
I know every unit in utah. I know a lot of stuff that goes on. Theres a really big problem on nebo, hence why it's only a 5 day hunt now.

well there you have it kattraxx. His uncle lives there. How can you dispute that? Like Mike Eastman would say " The authority on western big game hunting" or Utah in Cass' case.

You can't argue with that kattraxx. Hey wildlife biologist cASS would you please get into more detail about the "big lion problem" I would be interested to hear what you have to say.

The DWR admits they can't even count how many cats we have in Utah. It's propable a guess between the number of cats treed. If you haven't noticed but every unit is going into a decline from the lack of predator control and the drought.

Guys,
I guess here is where I am coming from. From the end of November to the middle of April (average each year) for quite a few years now, a bunch of us no-edumacated single digit IQ,low life, don't know no better hound guys spend days and days (weeks at a time) putting on hundreds of miles on foot, 4 wheeler, mule, snowmobile, snowshoes and sometimes even crawling all over this state in pursuit of only one thing........a lion or bobcat track. Funny, I have never even once seen CASS or even one of his uncles. I know the dogs, trucks, even the hats worn by the guys who we share the mountain with all winter.. I can recognize most of them by the tracks left by their truck or their machines...and you CASS ain't one of em.. So, what in the _ _(insert the expletive of your choice here) _ _ makes you qualifed to address the "lion problem" on the NEBO..\

C'mon CASS, don't be like that. KattSkatt

CASS, I had to edit this twice to remove some strong words that you didn't deserve. I hope you will see this for what it is. Just a thought, that maybe no single person among us ALL, is the "ultimate expert" on everything (Especially myself)

GEEZ.....Sorry to muddy the water here on a post that started out as a decent thread on a big bull... My Bad/Leave it to a Hound Guy to screw something up and start runnin trash... KT

I know damn well what im talkin about
10 years ago it was open season
now it's a 5 day hunt
talk to any (ANY) wildlife biologist and ask him why it's only a 5 day hunt now. His response will tell you the same thing I am
LIONS

Hey cass,? is your uncles name kim somethin, goes by kimbo??? drives a little red nissan i think, i think i bumped in to him on the mountain a couple of times.... o yea and the deer hunt is back to the regular length this year, they just shortend the season for a couple of years to get the buck-doe ratio up a ways, and you can blame low buck #s almost entirely on to many human hunters..

I'm no specialist on the Mount Nebo area I've been up there horse riding a couple of times, but one of my buddies lives by there and goes up there all the time and trees cougars and he has said that there are quite a few cats up there.
