So yesterday, I glance out my kitchen window and this is what I see about 300 yards to the West of my house. So I drove over to where they were and snapped a couple of quick photos.....there were ton of people stopping to take pics as well....once I got home I kept watching them with my binoculars, and about 20 more head came out, including two more HUGE bulls....it was pretty awesome to see!!

This was the bull running the herd, until the two bigger ones showed up...it was kinda funny to watch him bully the spike and the other samll bull around, but when the big bulls showed up, he just kinda went off and fed on his own.

I'm surprised that they stuck around and let you take pictures. Are they in an area that doesn't allow hunting or do they know that elk season isn't open?

They were taken in West Jordan Utah.....they are elk from Kennecott, so they arent exposed to much hunting pressure. THey were back today, and actually came down into the field directly behind my home. THey were less than a hundred yards from my fence. I just checked and they are still there.....yesterday they were only about 20 yards from the road with tons of people there watching them.

IF anyone who lives near West Jordan wants to check them out, just let me know and I'll tell you where I've been seeing them.

Out pheasant hunting in the basin yesterday I saw 3 horses and a cow elk together. They were in a pasture in town. It looked as though the elk thought she was a horse. She just stayed with 'em. It was a pretty funny sight.

If not, these elk have been hanging out between 8600 SOuth and 9000 SOuth on U-111.
