My buddy just borrowed my .300 Wby because his rifle is messed up.
He is hunting a private ranch in the Wheatland Wyo. area and has heard that there are some big bulls there.
Any of you guys know that country?

IS he hunting in area 5 or in area 7? I know a lot about area 7 and there are alot of bulls in the 300+ range and also a good number of bulls in the 350+ range. My friend has taken 2 bulls the last 3 years with his bow in the 300+ class. I do not know a lot about area 5 but I do know they have some good bulls in this area.

I've flown over it, real low. As for Elk I didn't see any but I was occupied. The only part of that trip that almost killed me is when we borrowed the airport car and it killed in an intersection. Pretty sad when you can fly over the greatplains and the part that kills you is a car.

i lived in weatland for a while and the best spot i knew of was bought and i can't get access anymore they lease it out. laramie peak gets hunted hard but there are enough bulls around to make it fun i hunt farther up the range around casper and deer creek but i don't know what tag you have there is also getting to be good elk over buy gurnsey and sunrise
