LAST EDITED ON Nov-09-03 AT 08:14PM (MST)[p]Alright, I finally got around to posting my pictures from elk hunting this year in Idaho. Well once again, our unit was very forgiving to us. We've had great sucess here, for 11 years now. With the eight elk we took out of here this year, it gave us 103 elk, over the span of eleven years. And believe me every last piece of that meat is eating. This first picture is of my brothers friend, who came up from California. On the first day of our spike hunt, we put him on a spike, that some other hunters had shot at from about 600 yards. They took out his back leg, but never cared to check and see if they hit him. He ran over the hill to us, and bedded up. So we put Curt on him, and he dropped him from about 250 with one shot. He was very happy, it was his first elk.
This is the spike that my uncle connected on. Montana hunters had pushed the herd he was with back across the boarder, and we caught them headed for some heavy timber, after we had gotten done with our morning hunt.
This is my black lab exhausted from watching the whole kill go down. He was imatating how the spike looked when we got up on him.
This is my brother and I after we got done hauling out the two cows that me and my cousin killed on the opening day of the cow hunt. Very tiring day. But two happy hunters.
This is our camp. We have three wall tents that we butt end to end, two sleeps on the end and one cook in the middle. We've had numorous people ask if we are outfitters. Its kinda funny.
This is a picture of our whole camp with our victory cigars in mouth. We happy to score on eight elk this year. That is us with the three cows we killed on opeing day.
This is the spike that me and my bro killed.
This is the cow that my cousin knocked down. She was a big ole bugger.
This is the cow that I killed.
All and all it was one of the funniest elk camps yet. We took 4 spikes, one i don't have pictures of, 3 cows and a 5x6 bull that my brother took with his bow this year. Now its time for the big buck hunts .
