I just found this forum and thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Mike and I'm a farmer in SoCal, 'nuff said. I was in Az unit 6a for a muzzleloader hunt Nov. 7-12 and I managed to whack a 6x6 bull that scored an unofficial 352+ score! I used a T/C Encore loaded with a 348 grain Powerbelt bullet in front of 150 grains of Pyrodex pellets. The bull took the hit at 200 yards and went about 40 yards down a steep slope and piled up. Myself and a friend hunted with guides Ty Goodman and Preston Mercer of Payson, Az. I just thought that I'd contribute, thanks for reading about my hunt! Mike

Here are the pictures Mike (MF) sent to me for posting, congrats Mike on the Bull.

Mike,
Welcome to MM. Nice bull. I like the upturn on the brow and bez tines. What technique did you use to locate the bulls and were you able to recover the bullet?

Doug,
We used the "spot and stalk" method. We located the bull at considerable range with a spotting scope from a mountaintop and then stalked him to a range of 200 yards and whacked him. I recovered the bullet and it weighed 276 grains for 76% weight retention. The bullet broke a shoulder, went through a rib, aorta, lung and rested up on the offside ribs. Congrats to you on your bull! And you're right, Merlot goes good with elk loin as I was able to find out last nite! :^) Mike

That Powerbelt did a good job. Don't think you could ask for much more in a bullet from a frontstuffer. Again, congrats on a nice bull.
