"This a picture of a 6x6 bull I got last year in the same unit 82 in Colorado. He had 20 cows with him I shot him at 200 yards with my 264 Winchester Magnum using 140 Grain Nosler Partitions. The other person in this picture is my dad Tony Salas. We had to drag it 2 miles to get it to the road and then we had to cut it in half to put it in my blazer."
Awesome! Lets here the full story on the hunt!

2 miles is a long way for two guys to drag an elk out whole. What's the story on that. How sore where you the next day?

very sore I didnt want to quarter him because he was big, and My first big bull. his main beams were 55 inches long on both sides and his royal was 30" long. My dad had shot him in the leg the day before because he had a broken leg and I didnt shot him in the leg but my dad had run into a herd of about 500 the day before and he shot 20 rounds and didnt kill anything he said he just freaked out. the leg wound wasnt even with his rifle it was with his pistol. He told me he had enought time to send my friend Brian Sierra running down the mountain to get more bullets about 1/4 mile down. At the time I was sleeping in my blazer because I work nights and hadnt slept in two days so I didnt hear all the gun fire. So he came back and got me we look all over for blood but nothing. So the next day we went back to the same place and they went up the hill and I stood at this junction and they scared it right to me. Man I couldnt move for three days, but it was worth it.

Thanks browtine I have more picture of some nice bulls not as big and some muleys. Sure do appreciate it

You dragged that thing whole with just two of you for two miles??? That is amazing! Nice bull!

20 bullets?? Dang.....that is quite near a fire-fight!! Were the elk shooting back?
