AAA, was the shipsey bull illegal? the tribe seems to proud as hell of it. they have photos of him with it all over the place. i don't think they cared who shot it or what the permit said on it, as long as the fee was paid. from what i heard, and it was 3rd hand but from a reliable source, was that b&c wouldn't allow the paperwork discrepancy and kept it out because of that. said his mother bought him the tag as a gift. also heard another guy say that shipsey's ex wife or girlfriend was the name on the tag too. there are so many stories about it that it may be impossible to find out what the real deal is. heard the rumor that the apaches had been feeding it steroids and supplements too, but that seems a little far fetched. but sci recognizes it as the record, and they have the same sort of clause about not letting illegally taken animals in their book. mainly just wondering if anyone had the "real" story of why this bull wasn't recognized as the record.
