Filming my elk hunt

I have the maximum points in Utah and have decided to apply for a unit that I should draw rather than wait another 27 years to draw one of the "premium" units. We all know that only a few units have bulls worth shooting. Anyways, I usually hunt with one other person and he may not be able to accompany me. What I was wondering if any of you know of someone that may want to accompany me and film my hunt. I would like to have a video of my hunt in addition to the trophy on the wall. I am only looking for a copy of the video and whoever films it would be free to do as they wish with the video.

Send me your email. I have a great contact who has awsume equipment and may want your hunt in his video. You two could probably work something out.

Join the club, some keep this status for many years. good luck on the draw, but in UT there are no "sure things".

Who is we?? ANY limited entry unit in the state could produce at least a 360 bull, and if this is too small for you, I am honored to share screen space with you.

My friend films hunts and is incredible at getting kill shots on film, 90% plus. He spent all fall filming for Crooked Horn Outfitters (makers of the Bino slide). He filmed those antelope hunts that were on the cover of Eastman's a couple of issues back. You'll have to call him to see if he's interested. He can spot animals like a hawk and nobody can out walk him. He would be a great resource for this along with filming. He is a hard core hunter and knows what it takes to get animals. Send me an e-mail and I'll get you his name.

F-stop on this site is a professional camera man for one of the local outdoor personalities in Utah.
He filmed a video for a friend of mine that drew a book cliff tag a few years back

I have only filmed one hunt Yelums wifes first Moose hunt. I have pretty good equipment (GL-1 with a doubler) and charge nothing except the rights to the film. I do have a 370-380 bull on film from last year and as far as I know he was not harvested. The unit I hunt is full of 320-350 bulls. E-mail me if you have more questions.

Thanks for all the input. I think Ive got a good start. I will keep this updated to let you all know when I draw my tag. Thanks.

I hunt the archery season heavily. Let me know where you draw and I can do some pre-scouting for you while I hunt, (if its in my unit). Anyway, keep us posted.

wlloyd,

I just re-read my post, and I kind of sound like a jerk. Good luck on the drawing, I guess i'm just mad that I haven't drawn yet. Let us know where you draw.

If you draw a killer tag, are there guys who would guide you for rights to the video????
