PHILUTC, That's the first time I've seen the "Wallow of Death". It's incredible that such a "sink-hole" could swallow that Bull whole!!! Thanks for posting!!!!

What's even more incredible is that those 3 guys pulled a whole bull elk out of a 7 foot deep "Wallow of Death" without even getting a drop of mud on them!

Those guys have strength beyond the average cyber-sissy and found no problem pulling a well lubricated animal with 4 foot long handles to grab on his head out of a solution that basically gave the bull a neutral density weight. Plus they aren't sloppy and prefer not to get mud on their clothes.
Good thing it wasn't three Utards that found it. There would have been two funerals for the two morons who jumped in there thinking it was the cut of head of a bull that a poacher was trying to hide in the mud. Then the surviving member would have been arrested for picking up a skull and antlers and not reporting the drowning deaths of his friends in the sinkhole just so he could keep the antlers and sell them on eBay.
I'm pretty sure there was no hanky panky involved.

The actual, real story on this bull was on Bowsite quite a while back. I believe one of the guys in the pictures was talking about it. Its a pretty cool set of pictures.

looks like a predug hole to me. if it was a sink hole it wouldn' hold water.....

Sho-e-nuff,
Thats the ole elk trap trick, you go out and dig a hole, fill it with water and cover it with grass when you are all done. Then the unsuspecting elk comes walking along and stumbles into the hole and bingo, you got yourself a nice big ole bull with no ruint meat. My family has been hunting elk like this for generations. Am I to understand there is another method of take for these critters? If so please inform me, mom's getting tired of diggin holes.

Dang I could use a bunch of those predug holes. I'm putting in a bunch of fence and I hate digging postholes. Pick me up a gross of them at the ranch supply store BS.

www.holes-r-us.com is my moms company. Its actually her night job for a little extra cash on the side. In the day time she is a coal miner so this hole diggin stuff isnt new on her. She actually makes a killing selling these pre-dug holes, shes thinkin bout hangin up the ole miners pick and hod and going into this "holes" business full time. Since it has caught on so well she's been foolin around with the idea of selling pre-drank beer and pre-eaten pretzels. Should be a hit with the drunks that are just to dang busy to stop in at the bar anymore.

You are right it does look like the front legs are lopped off at the knee. That is the oldest trick in the book, lure the elk to the edge of the pre-dug hole and then whack him in the knees so he falls in. These guys were definately pros!

I think you can get a good discounted rate on a knee whacking at Tanya Hardings personal web site. Then all you need is to get your pre dug hole installed, which I belive HomeDepot will do for a good price, they have them next to the check out isle by the gum rack. Or you can refer back to the afore mentioned website for the predug holes.

How come everytime these pictures pop up someone thinks I'm a poacher?
Whoever heard of poaching an elk and then stuffing it in a mud bog instead of just shooting it off the road from your ATV and hacking off the rack.

Since most of you seem to be in the market for pre-dug holes I figured that some out there might be looking for a pre-filled hole. I just happen to have 5 acres of prefilled holes for sale.
I'm blowing these out, 50% off. Dont get me wrong these pre-filled holes are of the highest quality, mostly clay and sandstone.
After taking a good look at those pictures I realized that the hole in question was not a pre-dug hole but it is actually a very poor quality pre-filled hole. You get what you pay for.
