Well i finally got my deer and elk mounts back and i wanted to give everybody a warning and say dont take any mounts to Kims Taxidermy here in Utah. He had my elk head for over a year and i finally got sick of the excuses and i went to pick up my horns and found out he has been in jail!!!. Both of these mounts were done by Kelly Memmott of Memmotts Taxidery from Pleasant Grove and i couldnt be any happier he is honest and he does great work.

great looking animals, I am happy that you didnt lose your horns to the shady guy in jail. That bull is real nice........thanks for posting................ Allen Taylor......

Hey John,
They look great!! Give me a call, we finally finished our Elk Hunting Video! Talk to you soon, Adam

great looking mounts. you're lucky you even got em back. what is the deal with all the wortless taxidermists anyway? seems like most of them don't ever get done. i lost a big chocolate colored bear i shot with my bow a few years ago. a bunch of guys lost all kinds of stuff. and the sorry sob's name is bob bazzurto. i think that's how you spell his last name. he was in springerville, Az. some years back. took off in the middle of the night with all kinds o' stuff. no good bastard. anybody out there know where he is? if ya do, let me know. i heard once that he was working at the metal detector at the albuquerque airport. i had to fly outta there right after that and i took a buncha extra cash to bail myself outta jail with, because i was gonna stomp his head right there, but he wasn't at work. i left him a note but he didn't return my call. i hope the worthless, spineless little worm reads MM and sees this or some of his friends see it and tell him about it. he is a no good dog, and if he's in business again, don't take anything to him.

Nice looking mounts. It is amazing that you were able to get them back.
We're not all worthless. I've turned mounts around in a couple of months, just to have them hang in my shop for 6 more months before somebody comes to pick it up. You'd be amazed at how many times that happens.
I'm in Abuq. RLH, and have never heard of the guy. He must have quit the taxidermy thing. If his name ever comes up, I'll let you know.

i didn't say you were all worthless. but i've had more bad experiences with taxidermists, than good. you ever had a swimmin' pool built? they're the same way. only way to not get an ulcer over the deal is to go with the high priced big name outfits. seems to me that taxidermy is the same way. you pay more, but at least you get your head back. a guy i know that is a real good taxidermist said that they biggest problem he sees is guys not having any credit with the tanneries and taxidermy supply outfits. they take stuff in and then can't raise the cash to get it all tanned, etc. there are some real good taxidermists that are just horrible business men. anyway, nmtaxi, if you ever see ol' bob, tell him i'm lookin' for him. in fact, just groin kick him a good one for me. later,

LOL. I didn't take any offense. I know plenty of no-good HACKSIDERMISTS. I always get a half deposit when I take in a head, and the first thing I do with that half, is buy all the materials I need for that mount. I never buy anything with credit.
Anyway, if I ever run into Bob, consider him groin-kicked.

On the brighter side, get a load of this.

I brought a mule deer in to my taxidermist (Gerry Korrell in Riverton, Wyo) on October 18 and he had it done and ready for me to pickup by Thanksgiving. Yeah, the same year. He did a very respectable job. Tans his owns hides which saves time. Yes Virginia there ARE people who will still bust their butt for an honest dollar!

He charges slightly higher than the going rate, but like someone said above you dont have to deal with the B.S.

Two guys that have done outstanding work for me and others is RE-CREATION TAXADERMY and OGDEN's TAXADERMY nad both are in the Richfield Utah area. Speaking about ELK< DEER< LION mounts. Jay Ogden had many other species in his shop and looked great. RE-CREATION had the '370' ELK I killed in SEPT 02 done by the first of May '03 and it is pedestal mounted . The LION is taking a little longer, am having a little more done on this brute too so I will wait for a quality job. Some good ones still exist if you are willing to pay for them!

The guy in Panguitch does some awesome work as well. I've been impressed the work he's done and can't wait to get my brother buck back.
