Smallest Shed Ever!

I hate to be the one that has to ask but I was out shed hunting last weekend and found a spike shed that is 5 1/2" long! I can't beleive I saw it. My little brother said it looks like a #2 pencil. It really isn't much bigger.

While in AZ this past January I found a Coues spike shed that is about 2.5 inches long. I'll take a picture of it and post it. I though it was a shard of bone at first and almost didnt pick it up.

I have a mule deer shed that is fresh, not white, and it is just a spike about 4.5 inches long! I was checking out a rub when i happened to find it

I found a 2.5 inch spike antler as well as DK. Couldn't believe it. Just happened to glance down on a game trail and looked right at it. Fresh one too, had some skin on it.

I've found a few over the years that were about that size. Never thought to put the tape on them.
I have found broken points that I thought were pretty amazing finds because of how small they were. I once picked up a piece of broken tine where two bucks had fought. The piece was only a couple of inches long.

Great post NvrEnuf. I have a pretty small one at home as well. When I get home tonight I will take a picture and post it in the morning. It is a fork horn, but it is barely a fork. I was shocked to find it, I just happened to see it by my boot as I went to take a step. I found it two years ago, and it is nice and brown.

A couple of nights ago I looked out the window and saw a buck with no antlers. There was bright red blood just starting to drip from his pedicels. I recognized this buck as one that frequents my yard at night. Both of his antlers had broken off during the rut, leaving just short stubs. He apparently had shed the stubs just minutes before I looked out the window. I went out with a flashlight and found one of the stubs. Its only about 5" long but is about 4 1/2" in circumference with a 2" brow tine. I guess it scores 9 4/8. I haven't found the other stub yet but I really haven't looked very hard.

CowKiller, That would certainly be an interesting find. If you get the chance please post a picture of that one. Also, good luck on locating the other stub.

I've found a three point shed that is the same size as some of those. I'll try to find a pic and post it. It was a dink.

I've found a couple 4 to 5 inch long spike muley sheds, but I've never measured any. I gave one to my youngest daughter. It's her "baby antler".
A couple years ago I was shed hunting with a buddy when we saw a one-antlered spike go through some bushes and come out the other side bald. There was about 5 inches of snow on the ground, but my buddy actually found the shed in the snow. It was maybe 4 inches long.

LMAO! That's great! You've got a couple of winners there. I love the 3 point. Give that boy a few more years he'll be a record breaker. I know it takes a skilled shed hunter to pick up sheds like that. You must have some serious eagle eyes.

well lowdog i have one that is probly just as small as the one on the right it i believe was off a whitetail. i got one the off a moose that is 2.5 inches long as soon as i get someone to teach me how to post pics i'll send them. I put them on my two different key chains.

I might just have the other side of that tiny 3 point there. I'll have to try and post a picture. Mine was by far the smallest 3 point I had ever seen, until I saw yours. LOL

I was at my grandmas' house a week or so ago and someone found a shed out there almost exactly like that huge 3 pointer there. I actually think it is a little smaller. I will have to take a picture of it next time I'm out there and post it.
