If any of you have questions about how to play the New Mexico draw odds game shoot me an e-mail. I'd be happy to help you get your chance to come to NM.

I heard that the guide draw odds are going to be way better than draw odds for the regular tags this year. Everyone should apply with JFWRC if they want to get a tag!

My party leader has our completed apps, and you should be getting them soon... Oh, I am in with Coues's (Jeff's) Unit 52 muzzleloader group. Can't wait, Thanks.

How screwy will the odds be with the new applicants taking advantage of the new credit card appl. option?? As bad as anyone with a gun/bow and credit card will be appling or do ya feel 'normal' applicants?

Personally, I think the resident and non guided non resident odds are going to be awful in 2004 with the CC deal, except for a few units and time frames. There are some good NGNR hunts out there if one does the research. Its gonna depend on how the app is first assigned a random number. Obviously whats bad is the total numbers of applications going in.

Certainly you have better things to do with your time than try to figure out New Mexico draw odds. They change the rules more often than anywhere. In the last ten years they have tried and did away with preference points, changed nonresident quotas, did the guide split (and tried to make all nonresidents guided), had nonresident quotas on sheep, then removed them by court order, charged extra for "Quality and High Demand", changed from draw by choice number to pick your first available choice, they even had it one year where all you had to send them was a $6 check and you paid for the tag later (deer kept this until recently). I think that hurtdraw odds, especially sheep, but it was not as bad as twice the applicants. By the time you figure this one out, they will change the rules again, you can count on that.
