Has anyone hunted unit 851 Colorado?

I searched the archives and can't find any posts about hunting the Bosque del Oso in unit 851 in Colorado. Does anyone have any first hand info on the Bosque. Hunted it yourself or know someone who has? I'd like to talk and hear what you think of this area. I'm thinking about applying for this unit this year. Thanks. [email protected]

I lived in La Veta a few years ago, before the Bosque was open to hunting. There are a lot of elk there, I saw a herd near Picketwire that must have been 500 head. I believe the State has either purchased or has a conservation easement with a new ranch that totals about 3,500 acres in that area. I know if I had the points that's the unit I'd be putting in for.

I have not hunted it, but I researched the area for deer last year and the biologist I talked with said he wouldn't spend lots of points for a deer there, but he said he would for elk.
