Have hunted from the logging roads.
and set up camp nent to them, lots of trafic.
just bought a fourwheeler
have lots of camping gear,
Would like to photo a hunt,

Thinking about first season Muzzy, with second choise first rifel.
I would consider Bow season but it takes a good 2 weeks
or at least allow that much, which i don't have a problem with.
lis. has to be sent in here shortly, in the next 2 weeks +.
if your interested in teaming up, I have a great location,
saw 300 + elk last year.
have access to 1000 acres of privet land, that abbutts to public.

lets talk.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-16-04 AT 03:57PM (MST)[p]Roadtrip,
got your email,
I hunted the west elk wilderness,
for 4 years.
god is that some fantastic country.
what did you mean about the cost for the criter use?
how much.
it might be a good way to save, it cost me about 300 bucks a head to bring mine in.
that is including the extra gas, vet bills, shoes and such.
I was known as the cowboy in the back canmp, by all the guides.
I camped just below porquepine mt.
I have all the lodge poles cut and standing there at the creak crossing laced to some trees. ready for whom ever wants to use them. also have a cash with pots, pans cooking utencials and some can goods stored there. and a jar with my name phone no, and address, its built in a perimid of stones,
I used this site for 4 years first rifle,
its 12 miles back from the truck.
there are many natural water tanks back there and running water.
open parks and ridges.
bear and ocasional cats,
your going to be camping in the 10500 ft. range with ridges running all around you.
no way in hell will you come across anyone unless its on your way in or out.
kaufman ridge is to the north of you and it has a good runway that they traverse, cuts over to haystack.
north side of sheeps mt. just above the big slide is another great place to set up ambush.
they seam to come up from beaver jungle in the mornings.
stevens point just south of mt gunnision is another good spot,
again they come up out of the jungle and work the scrub oaks on the south slope.
heck they're so many good spots.
elks meadow is great. but its kind of crouded.
but there are some big bulls that hang up on the west side of haystack if you can climb the slides.
I love that place.
its been a preserve or wilderness area for nearly 100 years
1906 set aside by Teddy R.
was the davenport ranch.
all 830 sq. miles.
