In late Sept or as late as you can get
in Sept and elk season still open (archery)
Do you still seek north facing slopes? We hunted very little north slopes as the erea we hunted was not huntable
in that manner. We got into elk just seems we could have gotten into more than we did. Lots of sign it seems we were just missing the elk mostly.
So how important and how late in Sept are north slopes?
Thanks

ONLY IF YOUR TRYING TO JUMP THEM IN THEIR BEDS.
EVENINGS THEY WILL TEND TO COME OUT ON WEST & SOUTH FACES.
AND MORNINGS GO UP SOUTH FACES.
so if you have this situation YOU SHOULD EITHER BE SOMEWHERE IN THEIR TRAVEL ROUGHT.
high in the morming or above there feeding area.
or between them and their beds.
evening time between them and water / feeding area.
perferably sit on there water.
same if your going to hunt dark stuff.
hunt the parks that will get the longest dirrect light.
and expect them to feed from the top down.
or from a dark shadow area out.
