In 2003, one of the monster Arizona bulls, was a 9x12 archery bull taken in unit 8 by Nick Franklin. I heard rumors of 456 gross and 450 net non-typical score, along with new world record and a million $ offer for the antlers!

In the last issue of Fair Chase B&C publication, on page 27, they have the bull at 444 4/8. But then on page 54, Recently Accepted Trophies section, the bull is in the American Elk Non-Typical catagory as 429 0/8 ? With a larger bull taken in 2003 by Clay Heuett at 429 6/8.

Does anybody know what the real gross and net score of the bull is and if it has been panel scored and what was the final score?

Thanks Todd

That is nothing but a rumor!!!!! a million dollars for that bull? No way! If it is the guy should sell and buy a San Carlos Tag, go kill another one and be money ahead!!!!!!!!!
Milo Hansen who killed the World record typical whitetail and its only worth maybe $200,000 to $300,000.
Read last years Outdoor Life story about the money in big heads by Larry Huffman ( the best appraiser and biggest buyer of collector heads in the US)

Mainbeam, I'am telling you it was all over Arizona that the guy had been offered a million shimlls for the antlers. I agree if he really was offered that kind of cash, he was a idiot not to take it. Hell I would sell my wife for alot less than that!
I think there was something in the ESPN Outdoor website about the cash! TR

check out Hunting Illustrated's current issue (April/may). It has a story on the Franklin bull (page 64). not sure of BC score but the panel P&Y score is 444 4/8 net--- 455 1/8 SCI.
