I've narrowed my choices down to the Bausch & Lomb Legacy. But I can't decide if I should go with the variable 10-24 x 50 or just the good ole 10 x 50. Any advice or other suggestions would be great. Thanks.

That was my argument on the fixed 10. My only question is how much more will the stronger power benefit me in the variable? Thanks

10x50....They probably are lighter...

The additional power is not worth much in binoculars unless you also have a tripod. I agree with the folks that recommend the 10X50's. And then I would suggest that you get a good spotting scope (if you don't already have one). Then whack a brute!

I made a bino holder for a tripod and use that whenever possible. For me 10x is the limit of what I can hand hold steady enough to use with out the tripod. However, using a tripod, even with 10x, makes a big difference.
