I am trying to gather information on an incident that was supposed to have taken place on Reader Ridge, Manti LaSal national forest on the opening day of the Utah Limited Entry big bull hunt.

I don't have a lot of information, and much of it is second hand, so I am soliciting first hand accounts of what actually took place. Even if you weren't there, but have an idea of who I can contact, please send me a "Personal Message" here on MM or shoot me an e-mail.

I do not have any ill will towards anyone who I share the mountain with, but if the incident above actually took place, then the general hunting public was harmed by the personal and financial interest of one party. If the events of that day actually happened the way I understand that they did, and I can substantiate nthem with reliable sources, then you all will most certainly hear a great deal more about it.

Thanks to all who can help. I appreciate your willingness to be forthcoming with whatever details you can provide. I posted this on a protected forum, so there could not be anyone doing so anonymously. And, I say again, I am not on a witch hunt, nor have I judged someone based upon what we know already. Just trying to do the RIGHT thing here.....

Forgive the BUMP back to the top. I would really like to hear from someone who was there, or who knows someone who was.

AntlerKing,
I hesitate to repeat astory that I cannot substantiate, so I won't get into the details yet. If even a part of what I heard about happened, a highly visible party that frequents this forum, and is very well known in Utah crossed the line in his pursuit of a bull and the video of the hunt.

Anyone who knows anything, please let us know..

Thanks Again, Jeff

Is this the Nevada/Utah bull? If it is I read the the Fish and Game checked them. They had properly harvested and taged the bull, if this is the one. This is the info a kid from the Peaks area emailed me: Rumors have been going around about a huge 446 gross bull taken on the Utah/Nevada border (Indian Peaks). This is true. A guy bought the Nevada Gov. tag and also a Utah Landowner Tag to pursue this bull that would cross from the Nevada side to the Utah side. They located the bull on the Utah side and the rest is history. It is a 6x8 that has a lot of palmation, but there is a lot of difference in symmetry. This bull may be the highest grossing bull that Utah will ever produce, yet it may not even be the state record. Because of all of the deductions, the bull may net score around 410 but I have talked with a few that think it may not even net 400. If you hear any rumors of an investigation by the Fish and Game, this bull is clean. Fish and Game did double check and make sure the bull was tagged with the correct license. This bull was shot in Utah and was tagged with the Utah tag.

AntlerKing,
Yeah, I too have heard about that bull. The situation I am trying to find more details about is completely un-related both in people involved and the area of the state where it happened.

I'd sure like to see a picture of this bull though. I heard he was a heck of a bull..
Thanks, KattSkatt

yeah let us know if you find anything out, we're all curious now to know exactly what went on (if anything).
