Dream Job

Anybody else sick of there job like me. I'm a painting contractor and have been for over 12 years. I hate it! I would love to be able to make a living guideing elk hunts. In the last few years i've kinda lost some of the passion for killing an elk for myself, but i have had a blast "guideing" as a friend for others. I had more fun scouting and ultimately calling in a 360 bull for my buddies wife than i ever had on my own hunts. The look on her face when she took ahold of those massive antlers for the first time was priceless and i'll never forget it. So if any idaho guides want to pay my bills and let my guide elk hunts (ha ha) i would consider the position.

Good huntin' everybody.

I would like to be a guide, but there are a lot of hunters out there I would not want to guide for. I would really rather be an outdoor writter and photographer, but you have to shoot something big for any editors to look your way. Right now I am a sales rep for Woodworkers Supply here in Casper. I work 3, 13 hr shifts and 1, 5 from 5pm to 6am. Thats whay I am sitting here in mt free time reading these posts.

Yeah your right. Sounds good though doesn't it. Being told by the boss that you have to work "overtime" because the rut is on fire and the bulls are screaming. Going on break really means stopping to catch your breath while climbing up a big ridge where you spotted a big bull the night before. Oh yeah!

My dream job is to be the piano player at a whorehouse! You can have all those stinky old elk you want!

never have to work again in a life time,
have more money than i could posibably give to my family members,
spend every day scouting, trailing, panning, riding, shooting carving, twidling my thumbs,
not trying to impress every one on what i have,
to be happy and honest, never say i'm sorry,
and never have to be at any particular place at any certian time, unless i told some one i would be there,
foreget the year, day or even the time.
spend it helpping others forfill their dreams,
I trully love to hunt. fish, and have sex with my wife on a cool peice of moss, back up on some forgotten mountain side.

Sounds like elk isn't the only thing your the master of.

Martin....do you hunt deer around your place, or go elsewhere? I am going Antelope and Deer huntin down in Douglas this year. Can't wait.

i'd love any job that puts me out wondering the hills but elkmaster sounds like he has the best job.
yes muley slayer martin hunter and i hunt muleys just out of casper.
cant wait for the new growth to start branching on deer.
saw a bull elk in sundance this weekend with four points already and a real wide rack.
amazing how fast antlers grow

I've seen some good new growth on the bucks around here. I love this time of year when you see those big wide bucks with growth straight out of there heads.

Don't know how they are doing this year, I have been working to much to go out with cmiddleton. I hope they hit is big, we are getting a little more rain so that should help.
Michael

cmiddleton....good to know, I'll have to bug you a few times throughout the year about the growth.
