Utah Elk Tags

I posted an earlier message mentioning that I put in for the Utah antlerless elk draw. After I sent in the application, I looked at the statistics from last year and compared the numbers to this year. I am guessing that my chances are going to be about 1 in 8 for the area that I want(the DWR drastically reduced the number of permits). My question now is how fast do the regular season permits sell out? It doesn't matter to me if it is an any bull or spike bull tag, I am in it for the outdoors experience. I am concerned because the general season permits will go on sale before I find out the results of the antlerless draw. I want to make sure that I get a tag for the season, but I can't afford to buy both. Any help?

I wouldnt count on the antlerless tag, Get the spike bull tag over the counter and go with that. Lots of elk in the area just find a good area and let the other hunters get then moving.

Over the counter tags will usually still be available two weeks before the season opener so don't feel too rushed.
