We decided to go from the south rim of the grand canyon to havasu falls via short cut across the reserve. Needless to say about 4 hours later we were lost. We did see over 20 bulls that were already huge six pts. Does anyone know the acreage of the bosquilla? Russ

I once heard that this piece of land is the "Largest" piece of private land in the state of Az.??? This Indian nation keeps it OPEN/Public Lands,to ALL.Roughly its 24X50,thats "MILES"!!! 50 Early Bull tags here this year,Az deadline is near,June 8th.Good Luck to ALL ---

don't you feller mean "boquillas"? it's a big ranch, but it ain't all deeded. there is a fair amount of public land on it. the navajos bought it once. it's the one that their pres. went to the joint over because of the fraud involved in it. then the other tribe bought it from them. lotta great country involved in it for sure.

The Boquillas Ranch sits north of the town of Seligman in Northwest Arizona in Unit 10. It covers approximately 730,000 acres. The Navajo Nation owns almost 500,000 acres mixed with 230,000 acres of Arizona State Trust land. The Ranch is open to public access due to an access agreement and a lot of hard work by the Arizona Game and Fish Department and a number of dedicated sportsman's groups. All one has to do is sign in and out when entering or leaving the ranch and display an access pass in the windshield of your vehicle. Hunting for many species, including elk, can be very good here. Visitors need to be on their best behavior when on the property. Off road ATV use, mostly by antler hunters, nearly shut the ranch down to access. Offroad travel is illegal on all state and private lands on this ranch. The Mohave Sportsman's Club sponsors an annual clean up project which this year is scheduled for June 26. Show up at Pica Camp at 8:00 am and the local Wildlife Manager will direct parties to areas of the ranch to clean up. The Arizona Deer Association along with the Mohave Sportsman's Club are sponsoring an evening meal and campout after the clean up. All are welcome to help keep this ranch open to public access.
