I drew unit 2 Co bull tag!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to go hunting this year! It has been a long 12 years of waiting for this one elk tag but it should be well worth it. Did anyone else draw a big bull unit in Co?

Congrats bownut! I have been applying there as well but only have 9 points. Did you have 11 points or 12? Have you ever scouted out that area? If so, how big a bulls did you see? I have two 330+ bulls on the wall and hope to top these someday.

I had 11 points this year so it took 12 years to draw. I know that area better than my bedroom so it will be real fun. My dad drew an archery tag 2 years ago and my uncle two years before that. I have seen some real hogs over there and will not let an arrow fly unless he is over 350. There are lots of bulls in the 300 to 330 range and quite a few over that. But you have to hunt hard and know all the hidey holes to find the 2 or 3 that i see every year that will score in the high 300's. Now let's all say a prayer to the elk god's for lots of rain in nw colorado!!!!

I just pulled the results off the computer we got 2 BULL tags for Colorado's first Rifle season-

I have to admit this is the first year we have applied
from reading the responses about getting a tag we did not have much hope!!

Congrats on the tag for unit 2! I drew it also for the rifle season. I sent you an email earlier to see if I could get a little info from you, if possible? Time to start the scouting and questing this summer. Its a pretty big unit, if you've been all over it or not! Thanks... Bryan

I have a question. What do you guys do in twelve years of waiting for a bull tag? Do you simply hunt for other big game?

I have killed ten bulls in those twelve years with my bow. I just buy a general season over the counter archery elk tag on the years that i have to wait. There are tons of elk here in Co just not the quality that you get when you go to the good draw units.

I apply for over 40 high quality draws each year. So I get a slammer tag somewhere every year. Just not in the same place! Before I had many bonus points built up, I spent my time hunting good easy draw New Mexico units.
