Drop camps

Does anyone out there know of any high quality elk drop camps in Idaho or Colorado you would recommend? (Rifle or Muzz will work)We are looking for a good area with 300+ potential but we woould prefer not to have to be guided. Anyone ever had any experience with any areas like this.

Just about anywhere there are elk there may be a 300+ bull. Its just finding him. Here in Colo there are lots of areas that have good access. You will need to know how you will be hunting. Will you be road hunting or how far from the roads you would like to get? I sometime set up a second camp for friends but there are only 4 of us hunting this year so I will only be setting up one tent. Let me know if I could be of help. I will be hunting third season in unit 18 just north west of Granby. The unit is a over-the-counter bull area and they always have extra deer tags. Thanks Jovan

Thanks for the info. I will be on on foot most of the time. I don't mind a good hike. The area I will be hunting in is Unit 55 2nd season. Have you heard anything good or bad about that area? I will be hunting both deer and elk but have never hunted it before.
