I applied for the statewide Muzz Tag with one point and did not draw. Last year there was a 54% draw rate on that hunt so i was banking on that hunt. I really screwed myself now because i didnt apply for MT and CO deer because i was banking on this one. Man I am pissed.
I will be buying a NM tag if I dont draw there for sure. Who has a Unit 52 Tag for sale ?

What do you mean 54% draw rate? Is that the draw percentage with one point? I have a friend that did not draw with one point but he may have had an error on his app. Lee

Are you a resident of Colorado? I am a resident and I drew a muzzy bull tag with 0 points.

What unit in NM would you buy an OTC deer tag for?

The stats I saw last year for statewide muzzy tags were that almost 80% of nonresidents drew with 1 point and some residents with 0 points drew. However, they lowered the total number of bull tags this year from almost 5900 to just less than 5100. This should lower the nonresidents share from about 2350 to 2050 (40%). I must have held the right rabbits foot, because in my group, 3 of us put in seperately and all got picked.

I am looking for a unit 52 elk tag archery.

I am still confused. Are you a resident or nonresident?

LAST EDITED ON Jun-08-04 AT 04:04PM (MST)[p]Nonres. I know what happened now. I was mislead by the odds report and thought the 80% draw was for all point holders. Under that I though 1 point was a shoe in.
I am looking for options now. I dont really want to archery hunt CO but it would be my last choice. I would be interested in a landowner tag in CO for muzz, or archery or muzz for NM in unit52.
Does anyone know if that outfitter tag for MT has to be guided? or can they do drop camps or self guided hunts as well.

Well, the good thing is that NEXT year, you can make definate plans! Sorry about this year!

Not really, this wadded everything up. I already had a sure thing next year with CO deer and MT elk. I wont use the CO Muzz draw next year now. I really needed it this year.

hey call MT i just talked with a game warden up there last weekend while fishing the madison, and he said they didnt sell out on the aloted # of non resident tags . (i thought i was lucky because i drew one this year) .. he told me they may open up the tags for OTC just before the hunt i think there will be a vote on it soon
