Valle Videl archery unit!! Anyone ever hunted there?

I drew the Valle Videl unit for archery. I am hoping someone who hunted there can shed some light on some areas to start studying maps. Since this is a one time only draw i hope those who hunted there or know the unit will share a little info.
I dont want to do horses but if its the difference of a huge bull over a good bull i am open to any ideas. Pat Schmitt AKA Schmalts

I've always herd you need horses, but what do I know.

Email me and I will point you in the right direction, I guided the area for several years. My buddy drew the tag and we got on 25 bulls the first day, doesn't always work that way though. I will be there scouting during the archery season with my horses (very helpful) because my wife drew the muzzleloader tag. Mike

I photographed elk in the villa for the
years 94-01 during the rut. Horses I did
not need, bicycle YES> I could beat any
horse in many of the areas. Not all.Would
never hunt or photo the villa without a
bike. Would spend 16 days straight camped
in the villa. East end bike yes west end
bike so so. Have videos of those years.

I drew this unit last year but had to turn it back so I could hunt the Valles Caldera muzzleloader hunt I won. I got a little info on it last year. I don't plan on using horses.

Congrat's Schamlts! Tags 2 years in a row, I must admit I am jealous! Please write a great story and post a million pics!

I have heard so many great things about VV, and you pulled it with CC apps this year when I am sure odds are beyond terrible.

Sweet.

Considering how well you did last year, and how quick, I am sure you will be returning with a trophy.

schmalts, no tags, wish I would have but I saved enough cabage to buy landowner so I am going nontheless. If I had drawn I was going to splurge on some nice gear though!

Again, good luck and enjoy, if my dad had not needed the truck I was going to drive down to VV just to check it out.

Well we have drawn for the same hunt!! Congrats!! Maybe we will be able to meet with eash other. A 100,000 acres is alot of area. I hope all is well and if you would like to talk through email I would be more than happy to share my info with you that I might recieve. Me and my wife hunted their 2001 for cow and we were able to bag one but it was about 300 yards off the road. We didn't get to explore to much casue she was 7 monthes pregnant. Again, Congrats!!
