NV 111-115,221,222

I drew a Nevada 111-115, 221, 222 archery elk tag. Hunt goes from Aug. 28th to Sept 19th. This will be my first elk hunt and I am fired up for it. I was wondering if the elk are going to be in the rut at this time, I am sure it will be awfully hot still. Anyone have any tips and advice for me? I would also love to hear from anyone that has hunted this area before. Thanks!

I had an archery tag in 231 last year and found that the bigger bulls were already with the cows when the season opened. Sometimes more than one and this lasted through the entire season. For that reason, I don't think the rut was actually in but the bulls were definitely in the same areas as the cows. Good Luck
