I posted this on the General forum but thought I would post it here as well.
Hello, after a full year of reading all of the posts, I finally have decided to post my first message. I'm hoping that someone on this site will be able to help me out. A friend of mine lost two of his horses in the Grandaddy Lake area of the High Uinta's on July 7.
My friend was able to spend three days looking for them the week that they were lost, and we just returned home last night after spending three more days this past weekend searching. However, we haven't had any luck. Our best guess is that they followed the trail back to the Grand View trailhead and someone has picked them up.
One horse is a brown and white paint gelding and the other is a black gelding with four white socks. The paint was hobbled (but hopefully was able to get them off) and both were dragging lead ropes. Only one horse is branded - "quarter-circle Y" brand.
We're hoping that someone out there has seen them or knows of someone that found them at the trailhead. Otherwise, making it to elk camp this fall will be a little more difficult than it has been in the past.
If you have any information, please post a message or send me a PM. I'll try and post some pictures in the next day or so when I get them from my friend.
Thanks.
