I have not seen alot of postings, but the few I have just read says that AZGF has approved 600+more tags for NRs??? How in the world can they cut resident tags, and then all of sudden say we can issue 600+ tags, plus issue more deer tags? I just dont think that this sounds very fair, or right for that matter? Can someone please tell us more??
Thanks JstMe

I believe AZGFD web site has something posted on it by now. I was at the meeting along with Stanley, RLH, Bugler and alot of others. there are 127 deer tags and like 680 elk tags. I have a breakdown of the amounts by unit at my office. Bottom line is tomorrow night supposedly your draw results will be posted (the same draw results as drawn last week) and the additional 800 plus extra tag holders will be contacted by phone or mail. Of the extra tags, some are residents who applied with non-residents....... Allen Taylor......

I was at the meeting today, too. In answering your original concern, the bottom line is that NOBODY who was successful in the original drawing had their tag taken away ...

Treedagain,
Alot of elk hunts are affected including early archery and late rifle hunts. All the hunts North fo the river were afected but two. It looks like unit 10 and 27 had the biggest increase in permits both for early tags and late tags. Just on the early unit 10 rifle tag they are giving out 11 additional permits raising the total to 61 and for the late 10 hunt they are giving out 105 extra tags which is nearly a third of all the tags that were previously authorized for that hunt. Other unit were not as affected as much but some had significant tag impacts.
