Here is the press release just forwarded to me by Barnes Bullets. Glad to see it!! Fellow Hunters:

After carefully evaluating the information and comments received concerning the litigation between United States Outfitters and the State of Arizona, Barnes Bullets has withdrawn its sponsorship of USO's "Real Hunting Adventures."

While Barnes has used USO's outfitting services with satisfaction, Barnes Bullets has never been a party to, nor endorsed, United States Outfitter's lawsuit regarding the availability and distribution of non-resident hunting tags in Arizona or any other western state.

We at Barnes Bullets appreciate the concerns our customers have expressed, and hope this action assures them we have their best interests at heart. Barnes Bullets offers financial support to many organizations dedicated to wildlife conservation and the preservation of the hunting and shooting sports. The list includes the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Safari Club International, the Wild Turkey Federation, Sportsmen for Fish & Wildlife, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the Hunting & Shooting Sports Heritage Foundation, and the National Rifle Association.

We regret any event that causes dissension in hunter ranks or between sportsmen and regulatory organizations.

Kinda disappointing they didnt do it sooner. Sorta puts them in the "lets see which way the wind goes" category. Realtree was the first to drop them correct? That impresses me alot more. However I'm glad they did drop vs continue to support.

I am proud of Barnes. If I ran a successful business I would evaluate the issue before making a serious decision. Nice job Barnes.

I believe PRIMOS was the first company to pull support.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-20-04 AT 12:46PM (MST)[p]I know Randy personally. He is a top notch guy. He is very supportive to sportsmens groups. Hopfully, USO will get a clue if hunters and businesses stop supporting. Their pocket books might not be as fat as they thought. Greg

guys.. please fill me in,, what did USO do to earn all this "bad press" . I've looked back a few pages and haven't sorted out exactly what they did or didn't do to lose some great support from great sponsers. I've always been one to support what I believe in + or - . letmeno ....
