N/E California Rcky. Mtn. Elk hunt

Any one with some info. on the North-East California Rocky Mountain Elk heard? I drew one of the tags for zone 410. I read posts about Del Norte and the Marbles, but I need some help for area 410 (Modoc Co., Lassen Co., Shasta Co., and Siskiyou Co.) Very few outfitters that I contacted throught the Calif. DFG web site know about or are willing to go on this relatively new hunt. Any help is appreciated.

Get as far north as you can in the warner mt away from the roads
bugle then still hunt to them! Bull hunt only right?

NO. Either sex. I'm holding out for a bull though. The biologist said there are quite a few nice ones. There are just so many areas to begin looking. I was hoping someone could narrow it down. He did mention the North Warners.

If you shoot a cow you need to be shot your self. That is a great chance to kill the bull of your life time, do your homework go up scouting. Do not waste this chance. You will never get this again.

I'll try and do some scouting for you, I drew the X3B tag which is in the same area. I'll be heading up over the labor day weekend to do some scouting, i'll ask around and let you know what I find out. I heard there's a nice herd up at the Mount Bidwell area, this is one area i'll be scouting, so well see. I'll try and post anything I find out when I get back.
