Montana General Deer Combination License

Can some of you guys tell me about how many preference points are normally required to draw the Non-Res General Deer Combo?

Montana doesn't have prefrence points, they have bonus points. The system sucks IMO.

You can draw a tag with zero points, or any amount, or you could have max points and still not draw. Of course your odds of drawing increase as you accumulate points, but its not a given you'll draw. I would bet that 4-5 points would be a pretty fair bet that you'll draw though.

Contact the F&G and see if you can get the 'draw odds'.

I drew the elk-deer combo tag with no bonus pts in 2006.

I have put in for the elk/deer combo for three years and still have not gotten drawn. I have been told that is very bad luck though.

I had 3 for the deer combo last year and still didnt draw, this year Im switching to the elk/deer combo and starting over with 0 for that, going to save them ( deer combo) for later.

Hit up Kilowatt, he has posted some good stuff in regards to Montana's bonus points and the general tags. They won't be getting any extra $20 out of me.
