Elk Decoys? Do they work?

I was wondering what you all think about elk decoys. Has anyone had a positive experience with the use of elk decoys? I know that it is getting harder around here to call elk to within bow range. I am hoping my new Montana elk decoy (cow elk III) will help me fool their eyes as well as their ears. I would appreciate any info. Thanks.

I made one last year didnt get to use it because of lack of hunting time. This year I will be carrying it. If your a lone hunter this may get that elk to come within range. I have had numerous bulls hold up just out of range or in heavy cover.Good luck post your results.

Whats up BB? Are you bowhunting elk this year? Our season starts on saturday (28th). I am excited, I talked to the landowner yesterday that I bowhunted on last year and he said, "sure come on up anytime!" He also told me of all the cows/calves that have been around in the last few weeks as well as the 7x7! We'll see, I hate to get too excited about something I havent seen with my own eyes. Plus there is a bunch of national forest on his west boundry that I killed my little bull on last year.
oh yes, I have thought about using a decoy cause I had a nice 6pt hang up at 80 yards last year on the guys place. we'll see!
