Elk Opener

I finaly was abile to tag my 1st branch antlerd bull.
I am very happy with him. It has taken a lot of hard work (not as much as packing him out) to find an area that holds elk in Utah's open bull units.

So here is my 1st and I only hope there will many more to follow in the years to come.

Thats awesome! Thanks for sharing. I took my 1st elk last year with a bow and hope to stick a little bigger 1 this year, didnt happen yesterday bu I have about 26 days left to do it. Let us know of the story, did you call him in, etc.

from the phone call I didnt think he was going to be that big -
I would for sure shoulder mount that, it will be great practice for ya and with how hard you have hunted over the years to get him, it shouldnt even be a topic. the trophy is in the eye of the beholder not in the size of the rack.
