MY BOSS AND A FEW BUDDIES HAVE ARCHERY TAGS. JUST WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THEY ARE TALKING. THANKS BOBBY

Here in the Bitterroot area they are just barely starting to and the ones that are are small ones. The big guys are still getting rid of their velvet and are pretty calm. Sure are starting to stink though.

Just got back last night and all I can say is that it was the best opener I've seen. I saw 6 6x6's and three spikes. I heard but didn't see at least another 7 bulls. They bugled strong for at least 2-3 hours in the morning and another 2 before dark. It's always slow on the opener but this was typical of the second week. I suspect next week will be real good and the following even better. They were answering bugles but not being real aggressive. I had a big 6 point come in silent, I stood up to move after cow calling and bugling for 10 minutes and he was coming in behind me at 70 yards. Anyway with cool weather expected things are going to get real good.

They were talking pretty good saturday where I was as well, brought a first year 6 point into my decoy where he proceeded to curl his lip at about 5 feet and sniff at it, funny as hell. I had a herd bull with cows, just down the hill come to within about 50 yards but couldnt pull him away, seemed a little strange for this time of year I had to come out to guide fisherman Im heading back tommorrow its only going to get better.
