idaho unit 1 for elk

I'm looking for a little help in hunting unit one for elk. I've hunted the canuck basin a few times, but have found the elk herds to be scarce. Anyone know of a better local? I don't expect your honey hole or anything; maybe just a point in the right direction. Thanks Jack from Coeur d'Alene, Id.

That is tough country to find elk in, and I doubt anyone that knows where they are will help. I think it takes a lot of time and hard work to find them, or luck. Have you thought about hunting up the Couer D' Alene river? Many many more elk up there.

By the way, I dont know any honey holes in unit 1, so not trying to rub anything in!
