Leaving for Sawtooth zone Idaho in three days. Hoping to score my first archery bull. Can't wait, can't sleep, neighbors wondering why I'm rolling in the puddles on my street and raking their shrubs. With the unseasonably cool/cold weather in that area, I'm guessing that the elk are set up in the harem/herd bull and sat. bull scenario and doing some, if not alot, of bugling. Anybody been up that way to verify?

They are talking up in 36 anyways. If that is a help to you. Was up that way Saturday. I am hunting 36-a and will be up there from the 17th till the 26th. Had them going nuts over there. Was dropping bear bait and had my 12 yr old son with me on that trip.
Good luck.

Have heard from several of my bowhunting friends and they were all into bugling bulls this last week. You should be hitting it about right for peak bugling action.
Yes we have had cooler weather this year and supposed to be cool and showers through the weekend.
