Monroe Mtn. Rut is on.

I was up there last weekend and your notashittin they are going crazy. I hope to make it back up again tonight. I saw a couple of 340-350 bulls but nothing real big.

I was also up there over the weekend and Saturday night and Sunday morning they were going crazy, I hiked down into a canyon Sunday morning and had 6-8 bulls bugling around me and one sounded like it was only 150-200 yards away so I split the distance with him and cow called and he came right in--he was a decent 340-350 class bull, but hearing him bugle at about 30 yards was enough to get my nerves going!!!!!

Thanks for the report. I head down to Boulder Mountain tomorrow morning for my Limited Entry Any Weapon Bull Elk Permit. Plan on spending the whole hunt Sept. 18-28. Looking forward to hearing the local studs bugling and coming towards my mews. Sounds like there may be snow this Sunday-Monday and that means fresh tracks. Safe hunt to all.
